Venezuelans Arepas are 10000000xs better than Colombian arepas. Sorry, not sorry. There are two places in Cartagena that I found to have delicious Venezuelan arepas, first up is La Pepiada.
the food
Pictured above is the vegetarian option. Cheese, avocado, black beans and fried plantains. Everything melts together so well. Flavor is buttery, smooth, sweet and salty at the same time. The Venezuelan arepas are gluten free.
This is the shredded chicken, mixed with avocado.
Overall, one of my favorite places to stop for a snack during the day. The quality of the food is fresh, serving size is large and the presentation is exactly what you want.

Fast and friendly. All arepas are made fresh to order so it might take 5-10 minutes to get your order. Currently the prices range from 33-36k cop per areapa.
