Normally, I am not a big advocate for holding animals hostage in a zoo. As the title suggest, the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo is far beyond a place that houses animals for show. Established in 1926, it is one of the oldest in the world!

In fact, educational and research facility to promote marine conservation and biodiversity in Bermuda.
Over the years, it has grown to include an aquarium, zoo and a natural history museum.
Community
BAMZ works closely with the schools, organizations, and even helps businesses to fulfill their mandatory volunteer hours with environmental stewardship and to become active members in the sustainable practices on the island.
They also offer college scholarships and internships to students interested in pursuing careers in marine biology, conservation, and related fields. These opportunities help support the next generation of scientists and conservationists in Bermuda.
Research
Staying true to its roots, BAMZ stays heavily involved in numerous research initiatives focused on marine ecology, endangered species conservation, and habitat restoration. Researchers at BAMZ contribute valuable data to ongoing scientific studies and conservation projects.
They go above and beyond allowing locals and visitors to visit the animals. They offer education programs for all ages, camps, guided tours, interactive exhibits, and field trips for children. Each year they aid countless science research projects, ocean conservation projects, internships and scholarships for college students and more.
